Description

New, improved eneloop kit in Blue colors AA 10 pack - Pre Charged Ready to use rechargeable battery. Since its launch in November 2005 eneloop has become well-known around the world as it has revolutionized the consumer-use rechargeable battery segment with its unique features: * rechargeable approximately 1,500 times * coming pre-charged, making it usable immediately after purchase * its unique design departing from the look of traditional batteries What is the difference between the "old" and the "new" improved eneloop An extra of 500 charging cycles - instead of being rechargeable 1000 times, the new eneloop is even rechargeable up to 1500 times. Improved self-discharge. Even though the self discharge of the old eneloop was already very impressive, you can store the new eneloop for 3 years and still it will retain 75% of its capacity. You need a battery, which is reliable even when having cold temperatures Before eneloop was suitable for temperatures as low as -10°C - now even until -20°C. The new eneloop is even more environment-friendly as it is pre-charged with solar energy in Japan.

5Excellent batteries - now with storage containers  Mar 13, 2012 By Jim In Alaska
Today I purchased this package of 10 eneloops at Costco for $19.99. I've been using eneloop batteries for about 2 years in all kinds of applications and I have been very pleased by their performance and cost-effectiveness. At $2/battery, I thought this was a good buy -- and the battery cases were a nice bonus.

The included battery cases appear to be well made. Historically, I've purchased third-party cases with mixed results -- some cases were well made while others had bad hinges or latches.

Hint: To keep track of which batteries in a case are fresh and which are discharged in a battery case, I write "charged ->" with a felt marker with the arrow pointing to one side of the case. I put the positive end of the fresh batteries point in the "charged" direction and the discharged batteries pointing in the other direction. Hence, I can carry two sets of backup batteries for my digital camera with me and swap discharged for fresh batteries as needed without getting confused as to which batteries are still fresh.

5great batteries  Dec 30, 2011 By S. St Pierre
Can't go wrong with anything eneloop. Love these things. Great case design as well. The storage cases I first passed off as hokey, but what a great idea when you find yourself scrambling for your junk drawer for a battery. Genius level stuff right there.

5The best rechargeable batteries, they last, slow drain and cycle well  Apr 18, 2012 By D. Taylor "Tech Gadget User"
This package of Eneloop batteries has worked very well for me. They cycle at 2100mAH and have the slow drain (self-discharge) and long life as expected for Eneloop batteries. The 1st gen batteries are amazing, as improved 2nd gen batteries I have high hopes for these. The plastic battery cases are a nice touch; they snap closed securely and keep my batteries organized in my battery drawer. They are really nice and I wish I had more!

Here's the real benefit for these batteries. The slow self-discharge and the impressive number of cycles they work through make them a winning combination. I tried using higher rated NiMH batteries in my camera flashes for weddings only to find they really didn't last. The Eneloops have always come through for me and I know that even if I grab a flash I haven't charged in a few months, it'll work for me. The higher self-discharge rate of regular NiMH batteries was a real problem for me.

Here's the amazing real story of just how well these babies last! I moved a couple of years ago and in the process my rechargeable batteries ended up all mixed together. I had batteries that were 10 years old in the mix so I figured I should cycle them all, put them in sets and get rid of (recycle) those which didn't manage to cycle at least to 2000 mAH. I started with about 80 batteries and as I went through and tested them over a few weeks (it takes time to properly cycle each set) I found one very surprising result. ALL of my Eneloop batteries were still good, even the 5+ year old batteries that hadn't been used in a couple years. I ended up recycling nearly every other brand. The Sanyo Cadnica Nicads I have which are over 15 years old would still work too, but only about half at that age. I learned from this experience that buying the Sanyo, while initially more expensive was well worth it. To this day I'm still using all of my 7 year old Eneloop batteries and they still cycle at 2100mAH (originally bought in 2005). No other brand has lasted and continues to last as these do. Not even close.

4 Eneloop AAA batteries weigh 1.7 oz with 800 mAH measured by cycling
4 Eneloop AA batteries weigh 3.7 oz with 2100 mAH measured by cycling
(The weight and mAH are the same for both 1st and 2nd gen Eneloop batteries)

When packing around these batteries in the cases, I use a simple trick to remember which are charged. Insert the charged batteries into the case with the + up. When I trade out a set, I put the used set in with the + down. It's a very simple way to keep track of which need to be recharged once you get back from an outing. Up = Charged, Down = discharged.

If you count on your batteries, these are the ones to get. Grab and go kits, flashlights, camera flashes, portable GPS, backup solar systems and more; use these, you'll be happy you got the best ones. This package is also available at a popular big box membership store, check locally first and you might save a few bucks.

5 stars, I love these batteries.

5Eneloop 10 Pack Set  Apr 27, 2012 By Cesar_T

Just bought this Eneloop set today. Everybody says it is the best and I can't pass up the $20 price tag. I am using this with this Sony Cycle Energy BCG34HLD2RN 1000 mAh Power Charger with 2 AA Pre-Charged Batteries as a charger. I just hope they will last together.
