It lights up a room very well, I used it to chase away deer from my property at night and can shine a clear beam in mild fog over a 100 feet. Deer are visible over 180 feet even in mild fog.

Beware of loading the battery cartridge the plastic components are fairly cheap for a 30 + dollar lantern.

I don't think this lantern will withstand changing batteries more than a few times before something breaks but with battery capacity at 200 hours I am sure I will be able to use this for a good 5 years or so even with a few battery changes. The swivel base is not all that functional it will not hold at less than 45 degrees.

In conclusion for the purpose I got this for it will work well.

This lantern does a very good job, but I have one disappointment and one criticism. The large size of the lens assembly leads you to believe that the beam will be broad, like a flood light. However, the led "bulb" directs a strong, but narrow beam. Brightness and distance are excellent. The relatively narrow beam makes a pattern more like a regular 3 D flashlight, which is not what I expected.

The design of the lantern is nice, but the handle is too wide to make for a comfortable grip. In use, after 15 or 20 minutes, I find myself trying to find an angle to hold it to make it more comfortable. Can't find it.

I use this for 15 to 30 minutes a day (night) for walking the dog. I feel that the use of 4 "D's" gives a stronger beam than 1 6v battery.

I have only just received the flash light but i am impressed with its construction. It seems to be well built and puts off a good light. The stand that comes with it works great. I am always having my son hold the flash light for me and with the stand i should be able to do it myself. If i have any problems, i will keep you informed. I only rated it 4 stars because of it being new to me.

I like this lantern much better than some of the other options available. It's not bullet proof but it is superior to many other 6-volt designs available today.

Purchased this lantern for walking my dog at night. The beam of light is bright and powerful. Makes me feel safe when walking in a dimly lit area.

I recommend it highly.
