i've been using the d31 blue top for a long time now and noticed the price on the yellow top dropped. Optima says the blue is for deep cycle trolling motor use while yellow is for deep cycle and starting use - however I have it on good authority from optima that the d31m marine battery is the same inside both the blue and yellow tops, so if the yellow is cheaper today, I'll buy it instead!
