Handy item. Jan 28, 2008

This is a handy item that I wish I'd had a long time ago. It is made of durable plastic and has a built-in battery tester that will test every type of battery the set holds.
The battery tester can be a little clumsy to use and I think it could have been better implemented as a sort of 'vice' where you place the battery on its side and push the tester end up to the bottom of the battery. Instead, this has an L-shaped arm that lifts up and you have to carefully place the battery between the contact on the bottom of the device and the top of the arm. This because more frustrating when you're using C and D sized batteries.
It also has a compartment that pulls out and holds small watch batteries.
I also wish there were a better way to present the rack. You can either lay it flat or attach it to a wall. Laying it flat consumes a lot of space, but I can't attach this to a wall in my apartment or at my office, so there's no other choice. Perhaps if they could simply have widened the bottom so it could be a sort of "foot" that would allow the device to stand freely on its own.
That said, the price is not bad and if you have a lot of batteries in a drawer or box somewhere, this will make finding a set of batteries that aren't dead or half dead much easier.

"The removeable tester is the thing and the rack is compact" Dec 09, 2006

Holds the most batteries of any organizer, and the only one with a removable tester. You can detach the tester and carry it around and dig in drawers and all the places you throw your batteries. My daughter had at least 40 AA and AAA batteries that were still good, that would have been thrown away if I didnt buy the rack and tester.

Pretty good Jan 16, 2008
By George Bought this for Christmas 2007. Definitely a keeper for storing batteries. Hung it on a wall behind a bedroom door. No problems at all with batteries falling out. While some batteries may fit loosely, it is good becuase my rechargables are a tad fatter and do fit.
The battery gauge is really not all that good. Different size batteries really need a switch setting to allow for a different load resistor to be used for testing. And the 9 volt battery testing doesn't work on my unit. The battery storage capability deserves a 5 star rating, dropped to a 4 due to the battery tester. It isn't the prettist unit I've seen, but absolutely no complaints on looks due to storage capacity and price.
A definite keeper.

Smart Solution - Bad finishing May 19, 2007
By O. Itani Overall, this is pretty good organizer. The small drawer designed for small batteries is almost useless. Some rechargeable AA batteries (different brands)do not fit easily into the slots. I am not sure if it is because the unit is still new or it is just a bad design. Not all slots are that way. The majority work. I like the battery power gauge.
Overall it is a good buy. It worth the money. But I just wished they had better design and were more thoughtful about the small battery drawer.

Good product with a minor complaint Jan 03, 2007
By David Watkin This is a good product that does exactly what you would expect. The only drawback is that, as part of its 66 battery capacity it allocates enough space for 8 9-volt batteries. Given that these are so rarely used in my house, I would have preferred to see maybe 4 spaces, with the remaining room being for extra AA or AAA batteries.
