These batteries will last much longer if when you remove the yellow tab, you wait a minute before putting them into your hearing aid. A minute seems like a long time but it is worth waiting that minute to get a much longer battery life. The air has to activate the battery and you just have to give it time to do so. I actually discovered this by accident so thought I would share the tip.

I knew the day was coming when I wouldn't have any choice but to buy mercury-free hearing aid batteries. After my bad experience in 2009 with Rayovac's mercury-free batteries, I purchased a year's supply of Duracell zinc air batteries at a local store. Well, I recently used up my zinc-air supply & had no choice but to purchase these Rayovac Mercury-Free, Improved Performance, hearing aid batteries. I wasn't expecting much, & I was hoping that their blurb, 'World's Longest Lasting Mercury-Free' on the front of the package was true. So when I used the first battery from the package, I wrote the day & time I put it in my hearing aid. Lo & behold it lasted 7 days plus 5 hours. It didn't start beeping after 3 days use & lasted longer than the Rayovac mercury-free batteries I used in 2009.
I'm rating this at 4 stars & will change it to 5 if the batteries continue to perform as they should.
UPDATE: I've been using these batteries for over a month now & they continue to last a little over 7 days. Thankfully, my experience has been a good one. Rayovac's claim that these mercury-free batteries have been improved is true.

Generally speaking, Rayovac Hearing Aid Batteries are excellent. When I purchase them locally at drug stores, they last 4 days before the "low battery" chime sounds, and then still work for up to 13 hours until they finally die. However, with the ones I purchased through Amazon, which are the exact same Rayovac product number, the low battery chime starts within 2 hours, instead of four days, and the batteries die in approximately 8 hours, as opposed to nearly 5 days.
I noticed that they are old stock, based on the "use by" date on the package. I would recommend that Amazon require sellers of batteries and other products with expiration dates, to state the "use by" date in their product descriptions.
Although the cost of this package of 16 batteries was less than what I pay at a local retail retail store, the higher local retail cost is a much better value, because such a fresh package lasts over 2 months, versus less than 16 days, at the rate the batteries from this purchase are dying.

Hi my name is Ruthann I like the rayovac battiers I do wish that they lasted more than five days but I do like the price and that I don't have to go to the store to pick them up I' glad I found Amazon .com

I bought these mercury free batteeries because of my desire to be green. The batteries work fine when first installed, but do not last as long a proline battgeries in my Oticon hearing aids. The last 12 hours of use get very frustrating with the hearing aids beeping "low power" every 15 minutes. So, in efffect these batteries have very short usable life and therefore are not green because it takes so many.
