 The only way to get rechargeable batteries Apr 11, 2011

Pre-charged rechargeable batteries keep their charge longer in low drain devices and this battery is no exception. I use these in TENS units that may sit for some time before getting a use and these provide drain much more similar to standard alkaline batteries. Certainly you pay more for the pre-charged type but they are much more useful in items that you do not drain the battery within a week.

I purchased three units of this battery for use in audio transmitter packs. I had a good experience with the predecessor model (Rayovac Rechargeable NiMH Battery, 9-Volt Size, 1-Count Package (Pack of 3) - Packaging May Vary) for a similar application.
Two of the batteries have worked like champs. I'm sure that I could use each one multiple times between charge cycles. Because NiMH technology is friendly for "top-offs," of course, I don't have to.
The third one was a different story. It would appear to have a full charge, but in use would deplete within 20 minutes. Once we had identified this, we took it out of the rotation, but unfortunately were not able to do this before missing Amazon's return window.
The battery case appears to be just a bit oversized, and sometimes it is difficult to remove the battery from our devices. An audio pack's battery compartment is very tight, to eliminate shifting and to reduce the chance of the battery being ejected after an impact.
I can't rate this highly because a 33% failure rate is not acceptable. It's too bad, because so far the two survivors are performing beyond our expectations.

i have a special needs child who plays with lots of battery powered items. the 9-volt toys were becoming rather expensive as he runs the batteries down quite quickly. the rechargeable 9-volt batteries don't last near as long as their alkaline counterparts, but being recharageable makes them much more cost effective.

Product was purchased on Jan. 10 2011. I just removed the battey from the package and tested it to determine if it needed a charge. O Volts! Placed in charger and found that it will not accept a charge. Left the battery on the charger for 5 hours. still O volts output. The battery appears to be unable to accept a charge. Any one who purchase this battery should check it on arrival. Since Amazon will not take it back or replace the unit I am out about $9.85.

item arrived on time and in good condition...these batteries work well in all applications...i use them mostly for a cordless security camera, and even though they don't last much more than an hour, they do the job well when needed...i've tried them in other 9V applications, and they work just as well
