This 10 battery Contractor Pack is a bargain if you split it up between family and friends! Beep, beep ... smoke detector time! Nov 10, 2009
The lithium 9-volt battery lasts five times longer than the standard 9-volt alkaline battery and ten times longer than the carbon-zinc battery. According to the manufacturer, this battery has the "highest energy density, flattest discharge voltage curve, longest shelf life, widest operating temperature range, and lightest weight of any comparable 9-volt battery." This battery does not contain any mercury, lead or cadmium.

It is recommended that we all replace our smoke detector batteries once a year, but unfortunately many of us don't remember to do that until we hear that annoying "beep, beep" reminder when we least expect it. I've seen a single 10 Year Ultralife for approximately ten dollars, not including tax, so this package deal is a bargain. It is a contractor package, but is also perfect for friends or families to divide up. When you replace your current battery with this one, it might be wise to write the date on the inside tag in your smoke detector (usually on the cover). When it's time to replace this battery, you'll probably need another, updated smoke detector. You can't set a price on safety, especially at this price!
